IT FIRM Waterstons is launching software to help companies keep their staff happy, after testing it on its own workforce.
The group, based on Belmont Business Park, near Durham, has developed a resource planning and management information system (MIS).
It allows each of its 60 members of staff, from graduates up to the managing director, to choose which projects they wish to be part of. Customers can also grade the staff with a traffic light system.
Mike Waterston, managing director, said: "Our internal project management system is designed to retain and motivate the very best staff by offering them the freedom to develop their careers through choosing what projects they work on.
"Empowering the staff to manage their own time has not only motivated them, but almost eradicated the need for lengthy resource planning meetings.
