THREE young children from Derwentside are being presented with prizes today for their winning entries in a colouring competition.
The cartoon character of Detective Moxy Malone is part of an award-winning campaign, which aims to raise awareness of the misuse of antibiotics.
At Sure Start Stanley, children enjoyed being part of the campaign by colouring in a picture of him.
There were three age groups for entries and a winner was chosen from each category.
Each of the winners will be presented with a £5 Asda gift voucher.
Jaime Battye, health promotion specialist from Derwentside PCT and Sure Start Stanley, said: "I would like to congratulate and thank everyone that took part in the colouring competition, which was a great success and hope that the three winners enjoy spending their vouchers.
"The cardboard cut-out of Moxy created a huge interest as parents and children asked why he was in the foyer of the building and what he stood for."
The winners are Louise Renforth, two, Lyndsey Johnson, four, and eight-year-old Sophie McGough.
