MORE than 180 schoolchildren took part in a gala concert yesterday.
The Celebration of Youth Music, at St Cuthbert's Church, Peterlee, last night was a collaborative performance, which included choirs from six schools.
Each of the six schools provided their own choirs, who worked together to present a memorable evening of music.
The hour-long programme included a mixture of traditional songs and hymns as well as modern pieces including music from the world of Disney.
The choirs taking part included Howletch Lane Primary School, Dene House Primary School, Eden Community Primary School, Shotton Hall Junior School, Acre Rigg Junior School, all in Peterlee, as well as a choir from Durham High School for Girls Junior House.
