KIND-HEARTED bikers will bring Easter cheer to children spending the holiday in hospital.
Members of the Lanchester Centurions motorcycle club will ride to the children's ward at the University Hospital of North Durham on Wednesday to deliver between 50 and 60 chocolate eggs they have collected.
The club, formed 13 years ago, has more than 70 members. It regularly raises money for charity, particularly for sick children.
"At Christmas we always collect presents for the children,'' said club chairman Wayne Tilley.
"We have collected the eggs from local businesses and have also chipped in to buy others. When you see the look on the kids' faces it is lovely. It is a great feeling.
They are not very well so anything you can do to make their stay in hospital a little bit better is good.''
