BUSINESSES involved in tourism will find strength in numbers next week when they meet to promote a dale's economy.
More than 30 businesses ranging from guest houses to gift shops are joining in a promotional event at Auckland Castle, Bishop Auckland, on Wednesday.
Most are featured in the new Visit Wear Valley guide book, which is distributed around the country.
Mike Richardson, tourism officer for Wear Valley District Council, said: "We held a similar event last year and people found it very useful.
"We have some special attractions in the district and, by getting together, we can increase visitor numbers and persuade more people to come and stay."
Tour operators, Tourist Information Centres and related businesses have been invited to the event, which will be open from 11am to 2pm.
Admission is free and refreshments are available.
