A BEER originally brewed for Teesside steel workers marks its 50th anniversary today.
Camerons Strongarm was launched in Hartlepool on March 18, 1955. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the brewery has launched a premium version.
Mike Berriman, sales and marketing director, said: "Camerons Strongarm is synonymous with the Hartlepool brewery and the beer has always been held in high esteem with drinkers here in the North-East. To mark the special birthday, our brewers have produced a premium quality ruby red ale which we hope will be enjoyed by existing and new Strongarm customers."
It will be available on cask in pubs, including the Camerons Heritage Centre in Hartlepool, Beamish Mary Inn, near Stanley, Kings Arms in Sunderland, Moulders Arms in Birtley and the Victoria in Durham City. Bottles will also be on sale at Asda stores.
