HEART transplant patient Stuart Watt is returning to his home village to hold the latest in his series of charity fund- raising events.
For the past decade, the 59-year-old, who had his first heart attack in 1993 and received a transplant two years later, has been a tireless campaigner and fundraiser for the Freeman Hospital and British Heart Foundation.
During that time, his Have A Heart campaign has raised £14,000 for the two charities.
Next month, the father-of-two is staging a fundraising fair in his home village of Shadforth, near Durham City, to mark the tenth anniversary of his transplant.
The event will take place in the village hall from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, April 2, with stalls, a plant sale, lingerie sale, raffle and refreshments.
Stuart said: "I cannot thank people enough for their help and support.
"The Freeman, family, friends, local businesses and the people of Shadforth have been wonderful.
"But I have to make special mention of one person, my wife Marjorie, who has seen me through all this. Without her, I don't know where I would be."
On April 29, Mr Watt will be joining the donor bus, organised by the organ donor register, when it visits Framwellgate Bridge, in Durham City.
