TWO restaurant owners have been fined for failing to have adequate waste disposal arrangements for their business.
Sunder Rajam Narishiman and Selva Carmichael, the owners of Carmichaels, near Newcastle Quayside, were each fined £1,250 and £300 costs by Gosforth magistrates on Monday.
No pleas had been given by the pair, who failed to attend court, and the case was heard in their absence.
They were each found guilty of four offences under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and one offence under the Environmental Protection (Duty of Care) Regulations 1991.
