BUDDING young actors are preparing to take to the stage with a popular musical from the 1950s.
The Spennymoor Youth Theatre Group Performing Arts Group will be performing Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, at Durham's Gala Theatre, from next Wednesday to Saturday, April 2.
The film, which starrred Howard Keel, was released in 1954, and features popular songs including Bless Your Beautiful Hide, We've Gotta Make It Through Winter and Goin' Courtin'.
The group, a registered charity, has been running for eight years and is dedicated to giving children and young adults who have talent, or an interest in the performing arts, the best training possible.
The cast of eight to 22-year-olds was chosen after a series of auditions in the county.
Previously the group has staged Five Guys Named Moe, Chess and Fame.
Performances start at 7.30pm. Tickets, £10 and concessions are £8, are available from the box office by calling 0191-332 4041.
