A Teesside man was in a critical condition today after becoming trapped in hydraulic machinery.
The man was caught after the arm of a piece of machinery fell on him at the Household Waste Centre in Burn Road, Hartlepool and needed two fire engines and one emergency attendant to free him.
He was then taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of Hartlepool, where he is described as being in a critical condition.
Health and safety officials were at the scene yesterday following the incidents, while police say that the matter is not currently being treated as suspicious.
