THE new owner of a glass company is looking to push turnover past the £10m mark.
Ryan Green, 28, has bought Clayton Glass, based near Stanley, for an undisclosed, seven-figure sum, from the Heywood Williams Group in Huddersfield.
The former finance director of Cestrum Conservatories in Barnsley plans to boost output by half.
Clayton Glass, based on the Tanfield Lea Industrial Estate, manufactures glass units for window and conservatory companies. It produces 10,000 units a week and turnover is £7m a year.
Mr Green said: "The business has great potential for growth, and the capacity of this state-of-the-art facility means that we can grow turnover by around 50 per cent.
"We intend to use the excellent reputation for quality and service that the company already has to grow market share, as well as accelerate the launch of new products developed here."
The present management team at Clayton Glass, of Dave Richardson, Jason McCabe and Richard Teesdale, will remain in place.
The purchase of the company, which employs 126 workers, was funded by Five Arrows, and Leeds law firm DLA Piper advised on the legal aspects of the deal.
