A DRIVE to transform a village by clamping down on troublemakers and tackling the fear of crime culminated in a fun day attended by hundreds of people.
Durham Police's Streetsafe campaign has run over the past three months in Sacriston.
The campaign, in partnership with Chester-le-Street District Council and firefighters, targeted anti-social behaviour, drug-dealers, low-level crime and vandalism.
Police conducted patrols, while community support officers and beat officers identified graffiti to be cleaned.
At one stage in the campaign, dozens of parents and children cleared tonnes of rubbish away over two days.
The fun day at the Sacriston Community Centre included a bouncy castle, face-painting and an assault course, while firefighters demonstrated how to tackle a chip pan blaze.
Police dogs Jet and Ben were also on hand, while those who wanted could have their fingerprints taken. A disco was held later in the day.
Sergeant Rob Smith said: "The day has been an outstanding success. More than 400 people have attended."
Police are preparing to conduct the campaign in nearby Pelton.
