A 20-year dream has come true for craftsman Philip Bastow, with the opening of a contemporary art gallery above his furniture studio.
He had wanted to create an exhibition space since setting up his business in Reeth, North Yorkshire, and now he has done just that.
He opened a showroom and workshops on the Dales centre business park in 2002 and has since turned the upper floor into a gallery, which is showing the work of ten local artists.
It has been open for two months, but will be launched officially today, with an open day from 9am to 9pm.
"I have always loved art of all types and a gallery ties in well with what I do for a living, because furniture is an art form," he said.
