Spennymoor manager Graeme Clark quit yesterday after Moors were thumped 5-1 at Gateshead.
Clark has been in charge at the Brewery Field since Tony Lee quit in October, but decided to resign after the game.
Clark said: "I've resigned for personal reasons. I've had enough, that's all I'm prepared to say."
He is understood to be unhappy after all the recent controversy surrounding the club.
Owner Benny Mottram, who wasn't at Gateshead, was unavailable for comment last night, but Clark's resignation plunges the club into another crisis, only a few days before they are in front of the UniBond League management committee for failing to turn up at Leek a fortnight ago.
Moors led with a shot by Stephen Capper after 17 minutes, but Paul Brayson levelled for Gateshead.
He got another, then Paul Thompson headed in a free-kick. Rob Huntley got the fourth just before half-time, and Brayson completed his hat-trick after the break.
To make matters worse for Moors, striker Danny Brunskil was dismissed for violent conduct.
A draw was no good for Bishop Auckland when they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Blyth.
Bishops failed to capitalise on a good first half with Blyth providing far stiffer opposition after the break. The visitors could even have picked up all three points in the closing minutes.
Bishops took the lead after seven minutes when Steve Salvin scored with a header, then David Morgan and Brightwell both went close.
In the second half, Brightwell's ten yard shot slipped just wide, but Blyth then took control.
After Scott Bell volleyed just over, Chris McCabe levelled when he beat Simon Corbett with a dipping angled shot.
With five minutes left, Bell volleyed over from ten yards, and in the last minute hit the bar with a fierce shot.
Whitby are still in promotion contention after they beat Guiseley 2-1, Anthony Ormerod and Danny Farthing scoring.
