A MAN appeared in court today charged with the murder of a man with learning difficulties.
Sean Swindon, 24, from Middlesbrough, was charged with the killing of 36-year-old Keith Philpott, of Axbridge Court, High Grange, Billingham.
Swindon, who gave his address as no fixed abode, was remanded in custody following the appearance at Teesside Magistrates Court.
He will appear again on April 5.
Police discovered Mr Philpott's body last Thursday when his family became anxious after not hearing from him for 24 hours.
The body was found bound and badly beaten at the ground floor flat where he lived alone.
