A LEAFLET designed to help shoppers and visitors to Darlington find town centre car parks has been produced.
The guide follows the temporary closure of the town's Crown Street car park, which is scheduled to reopen in December.
The leaflet lists all of the town centre car parks and states whether they are long stay or short stay.
It also contains a map of car parks and their proximity to shops and amenities including the Cornmill Centre, Queen Street shopping centre and the Dolphin Centre.
Louise Payne, town centre manager, said: "There are enough free spaces in town centre car parks to cover for the temporary loss of Crown Street.
"But town centre businesses are understandably wanting to make sure that business is not lost, because people who are not familiar with the town will drive elsewhere because they discover Crown Street is closed.
"If the electronic car park signs indicate that there are vacancies in other car parks, we want to make sure that people know where these car parks are and this leaflet will help."
The leaflets also indicates where disabled parking and paid for on-street parking can be found.
Stores including Marks & Spencer, Binns, the Cornmill Centre and the tourist information centre will distribute the guides to shoppers.
