FUNDRAISERS from all over the North-East have been raising money to help victims of the Asian tsunami.
People, schools and businesses are organising events to raise money for Geordie Aid, which is working to help people devastated by the disaster.
Youngsters at Moor Edge Primary School, in Killingworth, Northumberland, have collected £123, and residents of Nelson Village, Cramlington, raised £323 with a charity night.
The North Tyneside branch of the Royal Army Service Corps and the Royal Corps Transport raised £250 with a social night at the Catholic Club in North Shields, North Tyneside
Geordie Aid was launched by volunteers to send relief and people to help rebuild stricken communities.
The group is planning a social night and auction on April 10 at Pepes Restaurant, in Beamish, near Consett. Tickets cost £15 and include a three-course meal and disco.
Items for sale include a two-week holiday for four to Tenerife, balloon flights and a limited edition of photograph of Sunderland AFC from 1879 to 2004.
