NOMINATIONS for a set of awards that are judged by and awarded to young people will be launched this week.
The Smart Awards - the Stockton Mayor's Achievement Recognition Trophy Awards - are run every year for young people aged up to 19 in Stockton borough.
The awards have ten categories, including educational effort, sport and bravery to overcome a challenge.
They are run by Stockton Borough Council's Youth Service but judged by a panel of young people drawn from schools and youth groups.
The initiative will be launched on Thursday by TFM's Breakfast Show presenter Tom Davies.
Nomination forms are available in libraries, leisure centres and schools.
They are also available on Stockton Borough Council's website, at www.stockton. gov.uk
Nominations for all the categories are open until April 22.
