A TOWN band which was forced to cancel all performances is back on the music circuit with new members and concert dates.
Next month, Spennymoor Town Band will be hosting a concert for the town Mayor's charity. It will be the band's first concert for four months.
John Bell has been appointed director after difficulties last year forced the band to pull out of a Christmas concert when the previous director resigned.
Mr Bell plays for Chester-le-Street's Riverside Brass Band, which has just qualified to play at the Royal Albert Hall in October.
In December, as a result of the band's first Christmas concert cancellation in 25 years, and the resignation of key members of the team, remaining band members feared it was the end of the line. But thanks to Mr Bell, members are now looking forward to a challenging year.
Next month's concert, in Spennymoor Town Hall, includes music from Foden's (Richardson) Band and will be held on Saturday.
Tickets are £6 and are available from Spennymoor Town Hall or by sending a cheque and a stamped addressed envelope to Mr H Stephenson, 9 Buttermere, Spennymoor.
