AN action plan to clean up a district's streets has been put together by a council.
Councillors and officers at Richmondshire District Council have come up with the street cleaning plan, which will be implemented over the next eight months if it is given the go-ahead next week.
It will see an information pack created and a plan drawn up to promote community clean ups. There will also be a publicity campaign on litter, fly tipping and other street scene issues. The final stage of plan, which will be considered in January next year, could see temporary recycle banks installed at local shows.
The plan was put together following a street cleaning workshop attended by council officials from all over the Yorkshire and Humber region.
It will be considered by councillors on the environment and planning committee in Swale House, Richmond, at 6.30pm next Tuesday.
