A high-tech company celebrated Easter with a Good Friday visit from the Prime Minister
During a whirlwind tour of the region, Mr Blair visited the studios of Third Eye, at Low Willington Industrial Estate, where he launched one of the world's first immersive technology virtual reality centre, called the Blue Room.
The centre can recreate a fairground ride or other experiences using Hollywood-style technology to electonically 'paint' the walls with moving images. Guests can experience virtual reality without the need for goggles.
Serious uses for the centre include replicating hazardous environments for industrial training. It can also provide therapy for children with special needs, such as autism, and can be used in the training of police officers.
