A FIRE safety company has won a contract to maintain equipment for industries on Teesside.
Peterlee Fire Company has signed a deal to support Semb-Corp Utilities UK's fire and safety management services.
The agreement includes maintenance of extinguishers, breathing apparatus, hydrants and training at SembCorp sites in Wilton, near Redcar, east Cleveland, Billingham and North Tees.
Steve Gilroy, director of the fire company, said: "SembCorp Utilities UK acknowledged our ability to diversify. We took a very proactive approach towards the contract and recognised the opportunity to develop the tender into a productive and profitable business partnership."
The three-year-old company, which is based in Peterlee, County Durham, employs more than 50 people providing fire alarms, fixed systems, extinguishers and hose reels.
The deal also includes a joint equipment hire business, with a shop on the Wilton International site.
SembCorp provides electricity, steam, water, compressed air and natural gas to industrial companies in Wilton.
