A CHARITY is looking for a volunteer to be its future figurehead in County Durham.
The County Commander of the Durham-branch of St John Ambulance is due to retire in three years and the organisation needs a volunteer to act as his deputy and eventually take over the top job.
The leader of the organisation oversees the management of the branch and promote its work as the leading provider of first aid support and training in the county.
The organisation says the post would suit a person with a background in senior management, with excellent diplomatic and inter-personal skills and who is able to provide corporate management in a volunteer-led context.
Expenses are paid and the post would demand about two days per week, with some evening and weekend meetings.
Interested applicants are asked to write in confidence enclosing a CV to: Mrs SB Davies, St John Ambulance, St John's Road, Meadowfield, Durham City, DH7 8TZ.
