TWO new faces have joined the recruiting team for the region's infantry regiment, The Green Howards.
Sergeant Major Ian Galloway, who comes from the Priestfield area of Middlesbrough and now lives in Ripon, has joined the Catterick-based recruiting team after serving with 1st Battalion.
He has been in the regiment for 20 years, and his father, "Black Jack" Galloway, is a well-known former member and now a keen supporter of The Green Howards Association.
Joining Sgt Maj Galloway is Colour Sergeant Clive Lyon, from Scarborough, who until recently was a team commander at the Infantry Training Centre at Catterick Garrison.
The 1st Battalion The Green Howards has returned to its base in Chepstow, Wales, after training in the jungles of Belize.
After a period of leave, the battalion will be ready for its work as a light role infantry battalion, available for deployments around the world.
