Northern League chairman Mike Amos says that the League is unlikely to supply any clubs for the proposed expansion of the UniBond League.
A meeting of leagues at the Northern League's level was told in midweek that the UniBond League is to set up an extra division, and Amos said: "The stance of our clubs hasn't changed. It has to be economically viable for them to move upwards.
"We've been led to believe that the UniBond First Division will be split between the north and midlands - and the northern section runs from Colwyn Bay in the West to Skegness in the East. There will be a huge amount of travel involved.
"The three feeder leagues into the UniBond League might have to provide eight clubs at least if the expansion goes ahead - but I think it's unlikely that anybody will be interested from the Northern League as the way things stand at the moment."
