IT is that time of year when meadows and verges explode into colour as daffodils open up to greet the spring.
And at one of the region's stately homes, Castle Howard near Malton, young and old alike are being invited to enjoy the spectacle. Costumed character Lady Mary Howard, played by Kay Inman, will lead guided walks in the grounds today and tomorrow.
There will also be events taking place for children, including activity workshops where they will be able to explore sound and have fun with music.
There will be four workshops on both days, starting at 11am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm.
Activities are included in the normal grounds-only admission prices -adults £6.50, seniors/students £5.50, children aged four to 16 £4.50. The castle can be contacted on (01653) 648333.
