AN optitician is offering discounted eye examinations for mothers and children in Darlington next week.
The offer is in support of World Health Day on April 7, the theme of which is healthy mother and child.
Specsavers Opticians is emphasising the importance of eyecare in the run up to the day by offering eye tests for £7.50 - reduced from £12 - for children.
The offer starts on Thursday, until Friday, April 15.
Store director Gery Learmont said: "We think this year's World Health Day theme is the perfect opportunity to highlight the importance of children's eyecare and to offer mums a discounted eye test too."
All mothers wishing to claim their discounted eye test at Specsavers, in High Row, should call the store on (01325) 461155 to book an appointment for themselves and their child.
* Families are being invited to take part in a walking event to mark World Health Day next week. Darlington Borough Council's countryside team has organised the walk, on Thursday.
A storyteller will accompany the walkers around the one-and-a-half mile trek, at Rockwell nature reserve.
The walk - starting at Pendleton Road, behind North Road Primary School at 2pm - follows footpaths suitable for people with pushchairs or in wheelchairs.
