THE University of Newcastle's Business School has appointed PROFESSOR JOHN LEOPOLD as deputy director.
He joins from Nottingham Trent University, where he was associate dean at Nottingham Business School.
As a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Mr Leopold has nearly 25 years' experience in human resource management in the UK and in Europe.
He will focus on quality assurance and accreditation and will have responsibility for the running of the school's operations and staffing.
Professor Leopold gained international experience as visiting professor at the Institut de Gestion de Rennes, in France, and at the University of Groningen, in the Netherlands.
Professor Ian McLoughlin, director of the business school, said: "John brings with him a plethora of international experience and his proven track record in business school management makes him a valuable asset to us. While building upon our significant strength as one of the top business schools in the UK in one of the nation's leading universities, John will also add to our own management and leadership capabilities as we respond to the exciting challenges ahead."
