A BINGO club is hoping to raise thousands of pounds to treat young people in part of Consett.
The Grove Citizens Social Club wants to offer children of school age a trip to Ocean Beach Amusement Park, in South Shields.
Treasurer Dot Atherton said: "This is a very deprived area and this is to give the kids a day trip away.
"There is never anything for them to do and we want to show them we do care about them.
"We have done it before and the kids thoroughly enjoy themselves."
Members of the club are also selling raffle tickets and hold weekly bingo sessions to raise cash
The club hopes the outing can be held in August, with parents paying £2 to go along.
Mrs Atherton would like to hear from people interested in joining the bingo club.
It is held at Selby Gardens Communal Rooms, The Grove, Consett, on Wednesdays from 1pmto 3pm.
She would also like to hear from coach companies who can help with transport, firms that can provide light refreshments for goody bags and anyone else who can make a donation.
Mrs Atherton is available on 0781 563 9749.
