A KITE display got up, up and away at the weekend.
There were colourful kites of every shape and size; fighter, stunt, power and man-lifting kites - all vying for attention, dodging, darting and bucking in the skies above the Kirkleatham Showfield on Sunday.
Organised by Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council's museums service, the displays were staged by members of the North East Kite Flyers' Club.
The flying displays complemented an exhibition by Brotton kite enthusiast Kelvin Woods, running at Kirkleatham Museum. Kelvin's Kites: Nature in the Skies, an exhibition of Kelvin's collection of kites, runs until Sunday.
