A DEVELOPER wants to build new homes on the site of a former filling station which has blighted a village since its demolition.
Malangate Properties Ltd has applied to Teesdale District Council for planning permission to build 19 homes at the former Osborne Garage site, in Toft Hill.
It wants to erect ten terraced houses facing the A68 and a row of four town houses with integral garages and five detached houses to the rear of the land.
All the properties would have gardens, parking and be built using a mixture of natural stone and brick.
The company already has outline permission for one dwelling on land behind Osborne Bungalow, next to the site.
Comments about the proposals should be made to Teesdale District Council by April 23, before the planning committee discusses the application in May.
