A MAN has appeared in court charged with the death of a plasterer following a fracas outside a pub.
Kevin Todd, 22, appeared before magistrates in Guisborough yesterday charged with unlawful killing.
John Carr was taken to the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, on January 22 after an incident outside the White Horse pub, in Loftus High Street, east Cleveland. He died the following day from severe head injuries with his family by his side.
Mr Carr, who was in the building trade, was also involved in running Loftus Bakery, in the High Street, with his wife, Debbie.
Mr Todd, of High Street, Loftus, was bailed, and the case was adjourned to Teesside Crown Court on April 14.
