A SCOUT troop has started building a new headquarters.
Leader Ray Bowman says a great deal of hard work has been done by parents, friends and supporters to establish the hut, at Pickering.
The cost, however, is expected to rise from the original £120,000 to £150,000.
"We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of so many people who have helped us with cash donations and support in many ways," said Mr Bowman.
"When it's complete, the new building will provide much improved facilities, including those for the disabled.
"The larger building will enable us to hold district-wide courses and larger events, and we aim to start a beaver colony for six to eight year olds."
