A YOUNGSTER'S design is flying high after winning a competition to create a flag for her local cricket club.
Niamh Blackett's artistic flair saw her chosen out of hundreds of primary and nursery schoolchildren in Crook, who were asked to design a flag to for the town's CricketForce project last weekend
The four-year-old, from Crook Nursery, can now see her work flying high above Crook Cricket Club's clubhouse, which was refurbished in a Ground Force-style project carried out by volunteers.
Town councillor Eddie Murphy, who was involved with the project, said: "We asked the children to come up with a design to mark the Crook CricketForce project.
"I think Niamh's design was absolutely brilliant and there is no doubt when she grows up she will be a talented artist."
