Bikers, bladers and skaters enjoyed a day on the ramps when a mobile skate park was put up in Darlington town centre yesterday.
The unit, launched last year, has featured at venues across the borough, but this was its first appearance in the Market Square.
Paul Forward, borough council sports and activities officer, said: "It is a good opportunity for younger enthusiasts to have a go.
"The ramps are fairly small and we have a mobile unit playing music and serving refreshments."
Jamie White, 15, said: "If we had something in the town all the time then it would be easier and there would be police around making it safer."
Mark Bennett, 16, said: "I used to skate quite a lot, but we have to go to Thornaby for the nearest park so this is good."
