LAND has been identified for much-needed affordable housing in Richmondshire.
District council officers have identified part of Noel's Court, in Catterick Village, as having the potential for cheaper housing.
Councillors will be asked to agree to consultation about the site taking place with residents and the parish council at a resources committee meeting on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, construction of 18 affordable homes on three sites in Richmond began before Christmas and work on nine bungalows in Colburn is due to start soon.
Many of these homes are being built on land previously occupied by council-owned garages.
"These developments will produce much- needed new local needs housing in the district, which will be made available to residents on the council's housing register," said Councillor Richard Dunn, chairman of the community committee.
"Building land is scarce in the district, so it makes sense to make better use of our garage sites in order to deliver on a council priority - providing housing where it's needed."
