FAMILY members, caving experts and teams with metal detectors came together yesterday to search for the body of a teenage girl swept into the sea last month.
North Yorkshire boat owner Tom Ward organised the search for the body of Aimee Greenwood, 13, who died in Scarborough's North Bay, along with her mother and brother, four weeks ago.
Police estimated that about 80 people were involved in the search, including between 30 and 40 family members.
Mr Ward told BBC News: "We are searching for Aimee because every parent will know that feeling. Anyone who loses a son or daughter like that must be devastated."
Bothing was found, but Mr Ward added: "We never expected any great happening today, but we lived in hope. I felt as if the search would be a worthwhile thing to do. Just to have a day for Aimee."
