A BRAVE teenager has been shortlisted for a national award.
Cystic Fibrosis sufferer Thomas Anderson, 16, from Stockton, was ill in hospital when he was due to sit his GCSEs and had missed a lot of schooling leading up to the exams.
But the teenager insisted on having his exam papers delivered to his hospital bed - and sat all them all on the proper days.
He has now been shortlisted for a Breathing Life Award, recognising outstanding achievement of those living with Cystic Fibrosis, the UK's most common life threatening inherited disease.
Thomas is one of 24 young people to have been short-listed for the tenth annual Breathing Life awards covering sport, art, academia and outstanding contribution. The ceremony is in London on April 28.
