AN application to revise the plan for the Darlington Eastern Transport Corridor has been submitted.
The latest application is to add another junction to the new road, which will connect Haughton Road with the A66. The junction will be to the west of McMullen Road and the south of the proposed road route for the Eastern transport corridor, and should provide access to the former Blacketts tip.
It is only a minor revision to the plans, which have been approved by Dar*ington Borough Council.
The original corridor scheme was approved last year.
Planning officers have written a report, which will go before the planning committee tomorrow.
Officers say: "Although it is not yet constructed, the corridor road remains a transport commitment.
"The road is proposed to achieve a number of transport and environmental objectives and was the subject of a successful bid based on the local transport plan.
"The road as approved and subsequently amended, represents an appropriate design of road to meet the future development potential of the land allocated under the relevant employment policies of the local plan."
Officers recommend approval of the revised plan.
