THE family who took celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's advice to change their unhealthy eating habits are to open a fish and chip shop.
But, to show they haven't forgotten all Jamie's advice, the Measors intend to make sure their chippy has plenty of healthy options.
The family, from Peterlee, County Durham, were featured on Jamie's School Dinners.
Janice and Les and their nine children were persuaded to cast aside their junk food diets and turn to nourishing home cooking instead. The family, who already have a tanning and beauty shop, are now planning to open a fish and chip business and hope Jamie will cook the first meal.
Jamie, who has been campaigning to improve the poor nutritional value of school dinners, spent three days a week for a month with the Measors during the filming of his Channel 4 series
Millions of viewers watched as the family ditched their old eating habits and turned to freshly cooked meat and vegetables.
"I worked in a fish and chip shop ten years ago and I loved it,'' said Mrs Measor who said her project did not mean she had forgotten Jamie's advice.
"Far from it, we intend to use the best fried fish and also prepare and sell healthy options, such as dressed crab, prawns, baked potatoes and salads.''
She added: "There is nothing wrong with occasionally having fish and chips. We all need to eat some fat, as long as it is part of a balanced diet."
