A MAN who has been a security officer for only seven months has won an award from the British Security Industry Association.
Tony Wells, 56, from Malton, won the service to the customer category at the Yorkshire round of the association's annual security officer awards. He works for Britsafe Security Limited at Barrons, in York.
David Cuddy, Britsafe operations manager, said: "Tony takes his responsibilities and duties to a personal level in order to get the best results for the customer. Due to his proactive nature, he displays a full understanding of how to deter crime by effective patrolling techniques and his actions have prevented two attempted break-ins."
The association's awards are presented regionally throughout the UK, with the winners going forward to the national judging phase. The national winners will be presented with their awards in London on June 22.
