A COUNCIL is seeking the views of residents about how to get the community more involved with local planning issues.
Sedgefield Borough Council wants residents' opinions of its draft statement of community involvement (DSCI) - a document explaining how the council hopes to engage those interested in planning issues which affect their community.
The council says it wants to work with the public to deliver sustainable development "in the right place at the right time", and says that communities should be able to share their ideas and be involved in proposals for developments.
The DSCI is now available from the Sedgefield Borough Council offices or on its website, www.sedgefield.gov.uk
Any comments should be made to the Forward Planning Team, Planning and Technical Services, Sedgefield Borough Council, Spennymoor, DL16 6JQ. All comments must be made by May 23. For more information, contact Chris Myers, Neil Culkin or Tom Bennett on (01388) 816166.
