TWO researchers from the North-East are flying to Sudan to help people traumatised by the conflict there.
Disaster management expert Janaka Jayawickrama, of Northumbria University, and his colleague, Eileen Brady, are travelling to the Darfur region.
They will find out how people have been affected by the conflict and draw up a plan to help them deal with trauma.
News of their trip comes after western countries pledged more than £2bn to provide humanitarian aid to people affected by the conflict. The financial assistance was secured at a conference in Oslo, Norway.
