A BRASS band is looking for new talent in north Durham.
The Youth Brass Band Academy was started in September with young people who had never played an instrument before.
They are now playing simple tunes and the academy is ready to accept more players aged between nine and 20.
The band rehearses at Riverside Cricket Ground, in Chester-le-Street, on Thursday and Sunday evenings.
Each player has free loan of an instrument and receives free tuition from members of the senior band.
The Tavistock Chester-le-Street Riverside Band started the academy to help maintain the brass music tradition.
Any young player interested in joining the Youth Brass Band Academy should contact administrator Michael Duncan, of Pelton Fell, on 0191-388 1325.
