A GUIDE has been produced filled with ideas for enjoying the countryside in and around Hartlepool.
The Wild About Hartlepool leaflet lists countryside events going on during the summer and autumn.
Produced by Hartlepool Borough Council's countryside wardens, the leaflet is free and can be obtained from a range of outlets across the town, including reception at the Civic Centre, Summerhill Visitor Centre, the Tourist Information Centre in Church Square, and libraries.
Events featured in the guide include seal watches at the Tees Estuary, on May 7 and 8, an off-road cycling event at Summerhill, on May 21, and an archaeology open day at Summerhill, on June 26.
There will also be a drop-in bird day at Ward Jackson Park, on August 15, and a countryside festival at Summerhill, on September 4.
There are also details of several events that are to take place to mark Local Nature Reserve Week, in July.
As well as local listings, the guide contains useful numbers and provides details of how to get involved in voluntary work for the local environment.
