A TEENAGE babysitter raped a schoolgirl, telling her "Don't be selfish", a court was told yesterday.
The girl told police that the 15-year-old boy made the same remark when he forced her to perform a sex act every night she was left with him.
The boy, now 16, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested after she ran away from home, telling police later: "I'm fed up of people not listening to me, and fed up of him babysitting me."
The 13-year-old girl earlier told her mother that he kept forcing her to perform the act.
He had been babysitting her and a younger sister a dozen times over nine months, said David Brooke, prosecuting.
Her mother went to see the boy's mother and the youngsters were both present.
Mr Brooke said: "He said he did not say those things, and the girl called him a liar.
"It was decided that it was just really juvenile boy talk, a rude thing to say, and that there would be no more babysitting."
But the girl ran away from home in Darlington and, when the police traced her hours later, she repeated her allegations, adding: "I'm fed up of him asking me. They think I'm just making it up and I just get into trouble."
The boy, also from Darlington, denies two charges of rape and three indecent assaults.
The case continues.
