PLANS for a business park at Durham Tees Valley Airport are to be examined after concerns about its location were raised.
The park, proposed for the north side of the airport, is part of a £56m expansion that would see the main terminal refurbished, car parks extended and a maintenance village created.
But residents of nearby Middleton St George, near Darlington, are worried that the buildings will be just ten metres from homes on the Oaktree estate. Officials had said they would consider using a disused football pitch at the entrance to the airport as an alternative.
The matter has now been called in for consideration by Darlington Borough Council's environment scrutiny committee, which meets on Thursday.
Councillor Jim Ruck said the alternative site would be considered "an acceptable compromise" by residents
