HUNDREDS of Matchbox models worth up to £8,000 will be sold at auction next week.
Miniature cars, boats, vans and motorcycles dating back to the 1950s will go under the hammer at Tennants Auctioneers, in Leyburn, North Yorkshire.
Nick Lambert, head of collectables at Tennants, said that the models on sale at the auction were all boxed and in excellent condition.
"They cost pennies when they were new, but now some will fetch up to £900 each. They are highly collectable."
The models will be auctioned at a specialist toy sale on Saturday, April 30.
Toys ranging from Star Wars figures to miniature steam engines will also be for sale.
