ST Cuthbert's Hospice is inviting walkers and cyclists to take a sponsored trip into the countryside next month.
The hospice, based in Park House Road, Merryoaks, Durham, will hold its eighth annual Sunflower Cycle or Saunter on Sunday, May 22, to raise money for its work helping people with terminal illnesses.
Participants have a choice of walking or cycling 14-mile or eight-mile routes that will start at the Broompark picnic area and go to Lanchester or Langley Park before heading back to the start.
The event starts at 11am and there will be drinking stations along what a hospice spokeswoman described as a "picturesque route''.
She said that the event had raised more than £10,000 for the hospice since it started.
Anyone interested in taking part should call the hospice on 0191-386 1170 for more information and sponsorship forms.
