A PHOTOGRAPHER has won national recognition from a leading UK magazine for her new website.
The site of Darlington-based Lucy Carolan, which has been live for just a month, was selected from more than 30 entries to win Website of the Month at Black and White Photography Magazine.
The website, which will be featured in the magazine's May edition, was designed and developed by Newcastle-based new media design company TH_NK, which launched the site in February, along with a targeted e-publicity campaign.
The relationship between the two started last year, when Ms Carolan was hired to take a series of striking photographs of Newcastle landmarks, to be used by TH_NK on its website.
She said: "As a photographer, I know a fair bit about voyeurism and believed it might be fun to give visitors the impression of taking a sneaky look over my shoulder.
"The site is very easy to navigate. Winning the Black and White award is testament not only to my work, but also to TH_NK's creativity, and proves that traditional and new publishing mediums can work together to create something special."
Lucy Carolan and TH_NK are members of Codeworks Connect, the trade association for the North-East's digital industries.
